Melva Williams, Psalmist, Gospel Recording Artist is a native of Longview, Texas. She discovered her gift and love for music at the age of four. She is an anointed Musician, Singer, Songwriter, Producer, Radio Station Owner and Choir Director. She has served as a Music Educator in the Texas Public School System and Director of Music for many churches throughout Texas and Oklahoma. She is active in many church and community venues and has received numerous awards for music performances and service.

She was selected as one of the finalists of the 2019 Prayze Factor Awards Season 12 in the Traditional Solo Category and selected to receive the River and Word 2019 “Music Minister of the Year” Award. She was nominated in 2 Categories of the Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards 2019, 5 Categories of the 2020 S&M Gospel Indie Music Awards which she received the “CD of the Year Contemporary Award” for Going In Jesus Name, nominated in 5 Categories of the 2020 Prayze Factor Awards Season 13 where her song Going In Jesus Name was selected as “Song of the Year.” She was recently selected as a Finalist in the Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards 2021 in 2 Categories where she received the “Song of the Year” Award for “Going In Jesus Name.” Melva has recently become the Owner and CEO of 4ever Gospel Internet Radio Station and Co-Editor of the Gospel Music Forum Quarterly Publication.

She has released two music projects, “There’s No Other Name” and her most recent “Going In Jesus Name.” The power of her gentle compositional style brings a spiritual peace and freshness to the gospel world. Her stylish musical savvy unites traditional and contemporary melodies to create a distinctly unique sound that mesmerizes and fills its listeners with the spirit of the Lord.

Melva enjoys sharing her love of music with others by writing and ministering the word of God through song. Her constant prayer is that her life and the songs that God has given her will touch people all over the nation and bring lost souls to Christ. She believes music has the power to heal and to change lives and convey a message of healing and deliverance to those who need encouragement and hope; for music not only serves as a universal language but also as a major tool for witness and evangelism for the Kingdom of God
