Melva Williams is setting a standard for excellence in the Music arena and East Texas. She is not a follower but is leading the crowd as she uses the skills and talents that God has given her. Over her lifetime, she has used her talents in music to be an educator to young and old, a psalmist to the world and a music industry mogul to share the gifts and talents of others. Melva has served as an educator of music since the age of fifteen. In the churches, she has served as musician and Minister of Music throughout Texas and Oklahoma as well as a piano instructor. She is active in many churches and community venues and serves as secretary for the East Texas Gospel Music Professionals under the leadership of President, Milton Wallace. For 31 years, Melva served as a Music Educator in the Texas Public School System. She taught students at all age levels and coordinated various productions at the schools.

In the gospel music industry, Melva has made a positive impact. She enjoys sharing her love of music with others by writing and ministering the word of God through song. She began singing with groups around the Longview, Galveston and Houston, Texas area in her younger years and blossomed into a successful solo career. In recent years, her music and songwriting skills have had remarkable success. She has released two music projects, “There’s No Other Name” and “Going In Jesus Name.” The power of her gentle compositional style brings a spiritual peace and freshness to the gospel world. Her stylish musical savvy unites traditional and contemporary melodies to create a distinctly unique sound that mesmerizes and fills its listeners with the spirit of the Lord. Melva was selected as one of the finalists of the 2019 Prayze Factor Awards Season 12 in the Traditional Solo Category. She was also selected to receive the River and Word 2019 “Music Minister of the Year” Award. Melva was nominated in 2 Categories of the Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards, 5 Categories of the 2020 S&M Gospel Indie Music Awards which she received the “CD of the Year” Contemporary Award for “Going In Jesus Name” and was nominated in 5 Categories of the 2020 Prayze Factor Awards Season 13 where she won “Song of the Year” for “Going In Jesus Name. “She was also selected as a Finalist in the Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards 2021 where she received the "Song of the Year" Award for "Going in Jesus Name." Melva is also a part of the distinguished la Expose Organization where she received the 2021 Extraordinary People Awards for “Christian Publication Editor of the Year.” She was also recognized by the Prestigious Newsome Awards receiving the “Newsome Queen’s Recognition Award.”

Melva is a music industry entrepreneur. She is the Owner of 4ever Gospel Radio Station and Editor of the Gospel Music Forum Magazine. 4ever Gospel Radio is a multi-award winning 24 hour, 7days a week Internet Radio Station where listeners can enjoy great Gospel Music. Her mission is to touch people all over the nation through the Power of Music and the Word of God. The station offers music that soothes and refreshes the soul as well as a platform for Independent Artists to showcase their music across the country. The station has an amazing group of Programs and Shows and was selected as one of the Finalists in the 2022 Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards Category, “Gospel Radio Station of the Year.” 4ever Gospel Radio was also a Finalist in the Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards and received the 2024 Texas “Gospel Radio Station of the Year.” The station is also one of the Top 5 Finalists of the upcoming 2025 Sound Awards being held in Dallas, Texas.

Melva believes music has the power to heal and to change lives and convey a message of healing and deliverance to those who need encouragement and hope: for music not only serves as a universal language but also as a major tool for witness and evangelism for the Kingdom of God.
